Haiku for National Grammar Day

This is a clerihew, not a haiku:

National Grammar Day
Is for the USA
Which is rotten for a Brit
But I’ve gotten over it

Despite my citizenship problems, I entered a grammar haiku into Mark Allen’s annual competition anyway. It very nearly won:

A man eating fish
Was saved by a hyphen from
A man-eating fish

The winner, and the other runners-up, are great. Read them now.

(I also didn’t win last year. I like my traditions.)
